The descent module and load module for the astronauts living on the surface of Mars will be launched separately, prior to sending the ship with the crew - in December 2028 and January 2029 respectively.
In NASA also noted that the astronauts during the flight should be able to repair mechanisms to provide medical assistance to each other, as a mission to finish ahead of schedule, or to send astronauts to the necessary additional supplies will be virtually impossible.
At present, the exact cost of the project is not yet known, however, according to preliminary estimates, the flight will cost from 20 to 450 billion dollars.
